Today, I helped Mrs.Salyer install a new CPU in room 539. This was the first time I installed a CPU solo. I unplugged all of the wires connected to the CPU, like the power cable, mouse and keyboard cables. Then I removed the CPU from the desk and placed it on the cart I had. After that, I placed the new CPU in the same position on the desk. I plugged all the wires I took out back in. After that was finished I went back to Mrs.Salyer's office. There she asked me to get a blue labtop from the filing cabinet. Then once the labtop was turned on she asked me to go back into the room where we put the new monitors and scanned there white tag into a data base. I went and scanned each one, double checking I wasn't skipping any monitors. After that I went back to Mrs.Salyer's office with the labtop and scanned the remaining white tags that were for the CPUs. Then I placed each tag on its CPU.
Once that was done, Mrs.Salyer asked me to write down the bar code, type, model number, and serial number for all of the old CPUs that will be transferred to the Junior High. Once the guys got there in 6th period, they helped read off the information while I wrote it all down. Once we wrote all 12 CPUs information, we took the new keyboard, power cables, and mice to the storage room downstairs. Then we went back to Mrs.Salyer's office to figure out why a new monitor was not working. We figured out that it needed a display port-to-display port connection, as well as a HDMI-to-VGA cable connection. After that we went upstairs to put a few miscellaneous things in the storage room in Coach Bell's room.
